Who built the Eiffel Tower Viewing Deck in Las Vegas?

Joel Bergman, known for his work on the Las Vegas Strip like The Mirage, MGM Grand, and Treasure Island, designed Paris Las Vegas. Bergman studied Gustave Eiffel's original Eiffel Tower plans. His firm did the replica's architectural design, while its structural design was created by Las Vegas-based Martin & Peltyn. Schuff Steel, based in Phoenix, erected it with 5,000 tons of steel.

Architecture and design

Although the replica tower is made of welded steel, it also has faux rivets to mimic the original's style. The Paris Las Vegas features two-thirds-sized replications of the Arc de Triomphe, the Louvre, the Paris Opera House, and the Musée d'Orsay. The designers went to France to study these landmarks.

Paris Las Vegas was never meant to be an accurate historical reproduction of the original structures in Paris, France. However, the actual effort that went into it is quite intricate. The sculpted pieces were executed with care. The half-scale Eiffel Tower replica at the resort rises 540 feet (160 meters), with an observation deck at 460 feet (140 meters) that can hold up to 96 people. A restaurant is also located 11 storeys above the ground in the skyscraper. The tower's legs are 27 sq ft (2.5 m2) in size at their bases, with three of them resting on the casino floor.
